ChatGPT and other AI content platforms are just another set of tools for marketers to maximize their time. Using AI to generate content provides a quick launch pad for general content creation, helps alleviate writer’s block, and allows for rapid creation of general-interest material.
It can be used for rote tasks like creating new hire press releases, generating social posts out of longer content and other small tasks that prevent us from focusing on the big picture, and increase our productivity by being able to produce more content in a shorter period of time.
By using AI to generate content, we can easily create “listsicles” such as Five Ways to XYZ and other general interest materials to drive site traffic. However, all AI-generated content needs to be evaluated for correctness, clarity, cliches, tone, messages, and more.
The Right Approach to AI Content
When it comes to ChatGPT, many of us are excited, worried, and scared – often all at the same time.
However, ChatGPT and other AI content platforms are just another set of tools for marketers to maximize their time.
Of course, no matter how often or how well you can use AI tools for content creation, only you can
- Build Relationships
- Implement Strategies
- Improve Content
Don’t forget, we’ve faced “game-changing” tools before – remember life before marketing automation?
ChatGPT can only do what you tell it to do; it doesn’t think independently. Remember, garbage in, garbage out.
ChatGPT is Far from Perfect.
- The facts may be wrong – even when it gets “up to date,” you don’t know that the training materials it is learning from are correct. In addition, technology changes quickly. Information it learned previously may already be out of date.
- Security is a major issue. Any material you paste into ChatGPT becomes the property of ChatGPT for training purposes, so make sure you don’t put in any proprietary information.
- Potential copyright/plagiarism issues abound.
- You can’t copyright machine-generated text
- It may pull facts and figures from copyrighted material without citation
- It doesn’t cite sources unless you ask specifically.
- SEO algorithms may change to disregard ChatGPT-generated text.
- Redundancy and repetitive word choice are the norm…
- For example: “….dramatically reduce storage costs, as they are stored in one place and accessible in many others, so cloud costs are significantly reduced.”
What Does ChatGPT Think?
Our Perspective on ChatGPT
- It’s clean, but boring.
- It’s only “good enough.”
- The art of writing can be lost.
- Trust in writers may disintegrate.
- People may start to assume AI wrote any text, which may lead to veracity and credibility issues – significantly affecting your reputation.
- People who don’t have insights into the subject matter or good writing skills suddenly believe they can write – false assumptions lead to chaos.
- If your query leads to an error by ChatGPT, and you miss it – it’s your reputation!
Even ChatGPT itself warns of using it as the main content generator for an organization.
Privacy Issues: If you are pasting content into ChatGPT or any other AI tool – remember that content is NOW a part of the ChatGPT learning database. Therefore, consider strongly what you are adding and whether it will put your organization at risk as that information can be used to generate copy by anyone using the tool. In short, never divulge corporate secrets.” They will become part of the AI’s system.
After all that, though, tech like ChatGPT is the future, and we all must learn to adapt.
Moving Forward with AI Content
As with any marketing activity, strategy is key when using AI content-generation tools. You must clearly define your goal, purpose, and channels. You must clearly define your messages, fully understand your personas, and plan your content accordingly: topics, key areas of focus based on personas, etc.
At first, choose topic areas with which you are familiar so you can fact-check the information appropriately.
Prompts to generate content can be as simple as: Please write a blog about topic X or asking it to learn a longer piece of content and breaking it down into simpler articles.
They can be as complex as: here is a transcript from an interview. Please read and absorb the content. Let me know when you have by writing: Done. Then, please create an article of 800 words, a blog post of 300 words, and four social posts to promote it.
Based on which version of ChatGPT you are using or if you are using another AI tool, you may need to break the prompts into smaller chunks, asking it to remember the content from the previous request.
For example,
Prompt one: Based on the transcript from above, please create an article of 800 words.
Prompt two: Using the transcript and article from above, please create a blog of 500 words that uses the same concepts but does not repeat any of the text.
Prompt three: Based on the article and blog above, please create five social posts each for LinkedIn and Twitter.
Please note the dependence on cliched writing and simple text – but if you need something “quick and dirty,” AI is the way to go. Be aware, though, as you will be able to see from the samples below that the writing usually only scratches the surface; furthermore, to seem more comprehensive, the text is often redundant. As you may note, once the content has been fine-tuned, not much is left.
With ChatGPT, you need to make an effort to go beyond trite – Every blog it’s written for us contains something similar to: “The X of X has changed dramatically in recent years or “In today’s fast-paced business world”
You need to decide what is “good enough,” and what requires you to honestly evaluate and edit the material to transform it to useful and high-quality information.
Original Blog 1: Using AI for Automated Content Creation in Marketing
The marketing landscape has evolved significantly over the past decade, and businesses are constantly seeking ways to stay ahead of the curve. One of the most effective ways to do so is by leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) for automated content creation. AI-powered content creation can help businesses save time and resources while improving the quality and relevance of their content.
One area where AI can be particularly effective in automated content creation is social media. Social media platforms are an essential component of modern marketing strategies, but creating and managing social media content can be time-consuming and challenging. AI algorithms can analyze customer behavior on social media to generate personalized and relevant content for businesses. This includes text-based content like captions and tweets, as well as visual content like images and videos.
Another area where AI can be used for automated content creation is blog posts. AI-powered content generators can create blog posts on a variety of topics, using natural language processing algorithms to ensure the content is engaging and informative. This can help businesses create a steady stream of fresh and relevant content for their audience.
In addition, AI-powered content generators can create high-quality product descriptions that are tailored to individual customers. This includes analyzing customer data to suggest products that customers may be interested in and generating descriptions that highlight the unique features and benefits of each product. This can help businesses increase customer engagement and drive sales.
Finally, AI-powered content generators can create email marketing campaigns that are tailored to individual customers based on their behavior and preferences. This includes analyzing customer data to generate personalized subject lines, content, and calls-to-action that are more likely to convert. This can help businesses improve their email marketing effectiveness and increase their ROI.
Overall, the use of AI in automated content creation can help businesses create high-quality, personalized, and relevant marketing content more efficiently and effectively.

No one can deny that AI has become the latest “buzzword” in marketing communications. Organizations are starting to leverage tools like ChatGPT to generate content quickly in their quest toward ever increasing efficiency.
One area where AI can be particularly effective in automated content creation is social media, which takes a significant amount of time to generate – sometimes writing shorter is much more difficult than writing longer. As long as the AI is tuned to analyze current social media trends, it can be used to generate personalized and relevant content, whether text, image, or videos.
If used correctly and well, AI-powered content generators can be used to create a steady stream of fresh blog posts on a variety of topics, using natural language processing algorithms, which may or may not be able to ensure the content is engaging and informative.
Product descriptions are another “quick-and-dirty” area for AI. If you are using AI within a secure platform (don’t forget that any proprietary data you put into an AI engine becomes “theirs” for training purposes), you can analyze your own customer data to generate descriptions that highlight the unique features and benefits of each product and suggest other products that customers may be interested in. .
Finally, AI-powered content generators can create email marketing campaigns tailored to individual customers based on their behavior and preferences. This includes analyzing customer data to generate personalized subject lines, content, and calls-to-action that are more likely to convert. Remember, though, this data is based on general information used to train the AI, and your customers may not be part of the mix.
AI for automated content is another tool in the quest to create high-quality, personalized, and relevant marketing content more efficiently and effectively.

AI is simply another tool in your content arsenal. While it’s a way to generate “quick-and-dirty” content, many challenges remain with regard to quality and depth.
Lack of Human Touch: AI-generated content lacks the human touch, so it’s critical to have a human editor review and edit the content generated by AI algorithms.
Data Quality: Effective AI-powered content generation relies on high-quality data, so the data must be clean and up-to-date. If the data is proprietary, it’s critical to check the terms and conditions of the AI platform you are using to ensure that the data does not become part of the training database.
Bias: AI algorithms can inadvertently produce biased content because they are using pre-existing content as the learning curve. To avoid bias, the person using the solution needs to ask for citations about the data sources and algorithms used in content generation. They also need to ensure the content produced is fair and unbiased.
Lack of Control: AI-powered content generation can result in content that does not align with a business’s brand voice or messaging. The AI algorithms can be trained, but the content should always be fine-tuned to ensure it takes the right tone and reinforces corporate messaging.
Integration: AI-powered content generation tools need to be integrated with existing marketing and sales processes to be effective. The tools must be compatible with existing systems and processes and that employees are trained to use them effectively.
By addressing these challenges, businesses can reap the benefits of AI-powered content generation while maintaining control over their content and ensuring that it is relevant, effective, and aligned with their brand messaging.
